We got to check out The Garage on the official opening day - we have been waiting for weeks to get in there! At our table we had: ribs, fish, Ceasar and garden salad as well as the cauliflower bites, two varieties of beer and the raspberry lemonade. Portion sizes were pretty good and flavour of everything was very good in our opinion. A few hiccups from the kitchen and bar but it was opening night so it's expected. Hubby wanted the Alfredo but they ran out of pasta quickly, sauces were missed, beer was mixed up but again, opening day/weekend/week so this is expected. We sat at the barrel tables which were neat with a checker board on top (for which we got checkers to play!) These tables weren't great for eating a meal at but would be a good place to sit and have a drink. Mike came over a few times to chat with us and share some history and future visions. He let us know we could ask for a tour of the kitchen, brewery and anywhere else if we wanted. Overall I feel like this will become a great community gathering place - it's open and kind of 'diner' style with such unique decor. (Loud for someone who is hard of hearing but there are booths in the darts area which I imagine are a bit quieter). I know they will continue to tweak the menu over time, using feedback from the customers which Mike said is incredibly important to them. I made my suggestion of more plant based/non meat options. He mentioned they took feedback from someone who is celiac and got a new ingredient for their Ceasars that is gluten free. Parking: they have probably 10 to 15 spots in the lot then street parking. Handicap parking available and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible:) Can't wait to go back in a few weeks once they iron out some kinks! Be sure to stop in and check it out! UPDATE (Aug 30) - went back today with some friends and the experience was just as good, probably better. Music wasn't as loud as it was the first time which was nice, made it easier to converse than last time. Service was stellar, Alexis was our server and she was on point despite it being very busy. Tried the fettuccine, spinach dip, wings and nachos and none of it disappointed. Large serving sizes, wings have probably two to three times the amount of meat on them than any other you find locally, lots of flavour in all the dishes, spinach dip actually has a load of spinach in it, not just creamy filler. Only suggestion one of our friends made was that having zero beer (non-alcoholic) option for those who don't drink or are dd's would be great. Those I was with commented how beer and wine prices were very affordable compared to other places. Took photos this time to show the food! Be sure to go check it out!

Working in Whitecourt for a few weeks, heard about this new place and has to try it. Was not disappointed. Food was excellent, service was great, atmosphere was nice and friendly. Will definitely be going there again while we are here. Some of the best wings I've had in a long time. The Mango BBQ sauce was amazing. Highly recommended. They are still tweaking the menu , but they had a nice variety of offerings.

Our family went for dinner last night and it was great! I had previously tried your dry ribs as take out. They were great but last night we had tempured cauliflower, spaghetti, Philly steak melt, wings and quesadillas. Everything was great. The wings were very meaty, pasta was great but I think our all around fave was cauliflower. It was bomb. We definitely will be back. Fantastic service to. Between the host and the server it's self. A great new addition to whitecourt.

This place is STELLAR!!! I got the burger and it was the messiest, best tasting bbq burger I've had in years! The fries were crunchy and delicious. Husband got nachos and there was cheese all the way to the bottom of the basket. So much he couldn't finish it. So good! Only small issue is the chairs are pretty small for anyone with hips but they said they have other chairs you can request. Prices are decent. Staff were friendly and eager to please. We were even given a tour of the brewery!! 10/10 all day long. Go here!!!!! There's a dance floor too and kuds are allowed until 7pm!

I guess I should've read other reviews and not just looked at the menu. I managed to stumble into the only hipster place win Whitecourt. Indie music playing and poker kn the tv. Thelat one guy on his laptop who hasn't bought anything in hours or at all. Philly steak was decent, fries were crispy. No domestic beer, only (local?) craft options; the lager (there's only one) wasn't bad.

Finally, a place in town serving craft beer the way it’s meant to be! Craft beer isn’t about being watered down or “safe” — it’s about bold, expressive flavors that rival wine. With hops, malts, yeast, fruits, and spices, the variety here ranges from fruity and crisp to earthy and roasted, and it’s done right. At the moment, they’re showcasing an excellent tap list with beers from Bent Stick, Sea Change, and Ale Architect. Each one stands out, and it makes me even more excited to see what they’ll bring to the table once their own beers start brewing — expectations are already high. I tried the 8oz steak, and it was outstanding — easily one of the best in town and IMO a close second only to the New York Strip at Mountain, which is high praise. Paired with the Irish Red from Sea Change, it was spot on. The Peach Ale with crispy fries was another highlight — a fun, refreshing combo that worked perfectly. My friend ordered the Philly cheese melt, and it was a full-on flavor rollercoaster — every bite layered with richness and bold taste. The menu is simple, fresh, and well thought out. Between the crispy fries, a solid Caesar salad, and that excellent steak, it’s a dining experience I’d happily repeat. Overall, this spot is a fantastic addition to the local scene, finally giving us a beer lineup that breaks away from the bland and predictable. I’ll definitely be back — and often

Highly recommend to anyone local or passing through. Great beer selection and excellent food. We had the wings (they were huge!) and fish and chips (the fish was awesome, huge chunk of fish and not overwhelming with the batter). The vibe is welcoming, relaxed, and lots of fun. Lots of thoughtful touches like USB charging ports at the bar seating and bathroom stalls aren't tiny and cramped. The decor is impressive with so much to look at every time you turn around. And it all has a story, just talk to the owner Mike. Can't wait for our next trip through Whitecourt, we will be back for another round!
